    Ellen is passionate about using innovative technology to improve access to justice and serve low-income communities with their legal issues more effectively and efficiently. After becoming a licensed attorney in 2009, Ellen joined one of Illinois’ largest civil legal aid law firms, Prairie State Legal Services. While at Prairie State, Ellen handled a wide variety of legal issues for her low-income and elder clients, from helping prevent clients from losing their housing and public benefits to protecting victims of domestic violence. She also managed Prairie State’s Elder Law Project and served as a Supervising Attorney of the firm’s telephone and online intake services. Ellen tries to convey her enthusiasm for legal technology to her students as an adjunct professor and has been teaching classes in legal technology and electronic discovery for over five years.

    Ellen received her B.A. from the University of Iowa and her J.D. from the University of Illinois.
