Please join Just-Tech at a webinar for Legal Services Corporation (LSC) grantees hosted with LSC on the finalized revisions to the LSC Technology Baselines. The Baselines set out the technology capabilities that LSC grantees should have in place or available to them and serve as a resource for LSC during grantee review. This informational webinar will provide attendees with a brief overview of the finalized Baselines, a summary of significant updates after the Public Comment Period, and a discussion on how to effectively use the Baselines going forward.

LSC first adopted the Technology Baselines in 2008 and revised them in 2015. The Baselines are intended to guide grantees and legal aid organizations on using technology to provide high-quality legal services. Significant changes in the use of technology by legal aid organizations since 2015, including new forms of delivery during the COVID-19 pandemic and increased security threats, have made updated Technology Baselines necessary.

Just-Tech has collaborated with LSC to provide a substantive review and update to the LSC Technology Baselines from 2015. During the process, Just-Tech reviewed technology plans and assessments from select LSC grantees, gathered data from interviews and focus groups with subject experts, and conducted surveys across various stakeholders within the justice community to inform revisions to the Baselines. In March and April, public comments were collected on the draft of the Baselines, and the input received was reviewed and reflected in further updates.

Just-Tech’s project team spearheaded the efforts to revise and update the Baselines. They leveraged their expertise on core technologies referenced in the document, alongside other Just-Tech team members to develop new sections, including remote/hybrid work environments, cloud computing and policies, security networks, document management strategies, and the use of web and video conferencing systems.
